July 20, 2010 —
It is with great pride that Newad is exposing the art of 12 artists, today, who participated in the Art Here contest. The initiative aimed to promote local art, by giving Canadian artists the opportunity to expose their art everywhere across Canada in Newad’s indoor advertising network.
Since July 2009, artists were invited to submit their original artwork to http://www.arthere.ca/. They were then exposed all year on the online gallery. While the contest was open to all, the vast majority of contestants were aged between 18 and 34 years, Newad’s target market. In recent months, a jury was convened to evaluate all the entries received and in the end, twelve were selected.
“The success of this contest is dependant on the quality and the quantity of the entries received. The turnout has exceeded our expectations and we were impressed by the caliber of the artwork submitted by artists from all the provinces. The final choice was not easy,” adds Marie-Christine Fournier, Newad’s Supervisor Marketing & Communications and contest director.
The 12 selected entries will be posted as of today in Newad’s Classic Boards in its three networks; Campus, RestoBar and Sports & Fitness.
“Newad’s indoor advertising network reaches millions of Canadians across the provinces. This is an exceptional opportunity to showcase local artwork and it was important for us to give back to young artists. This is the main reason we developed this initiative,” states Michael Reha, president and CEO of Newad.
Due to the popularity of the initiative, Newad has decided to continue with the contest. Artists are invited to submit their artwork at http://www.arthere.ca/, for a chance to have their art exposed across Canada.
