NIGHTLIFE.CA in Association with Montreal’s Fashion Bureau

September 20, 2011 —

NIGHTLIFE.CA is launching new initiatives as a result of a 12-month partnership with the Montreal Fashion Bureau. These can be seen on NIGHTLIFE.CA’s webpage and iPhone application NIGHTLIFE MTL as of today, and will be celebrated at en event devoted to Montreal’s fashion scene on Wednesday October 5th.  That evening, a contest will allow Montrealers to showcase their creativity and style savvy.

NIGHTLIFE.CA: Fashion in All Its Forms!
Today, NIGHTLIFE.CA is launching “Montreal Fashion”, a new section accessible from the website’s homepage that includes dozens of interviews, articles, columns, photo galleries, videos and calendars about events related to Montreal’s fashion designers. Information about the city’s most famous style icons such as Denis Gagnon, Marie Saint Pierre, Ève Gravel, Cluc, Soïa & Kyo, Mélissa Nepton, Travis Taddeo and about events such as Montreal Fashion Week, “Festival Mode et Design” and the Big Fashion Sale by Quebec Designers (La Grande Braderie de Mode Québécoise) can already be found on the site. Continually updated, “Montreal Fashion” will also lead to a new “Addresses” section on the NIGHTLIFE.CA website that will be branded with the colours of the Montreal Fashion Bureau’s pin logo.

iPhone Application: At the Height of Fashion
Winner of “Magazines du Québec’s Grand Prize for Innovation” in the Digital Platforms category this summer, the free NIGHTLIFE MTL iPhone application is expanding and adding even more of the best fashion addresses in Montreal, geo-located and available in just a few clicks. This section was developed in collaboration with the Montreal Fashion Bureau, who is giving NIGHTLIFE MTL iPhone app users access to its Fashion Map, allowing them to easily locate stores that carry locally-designed clothes (modemontreal.tv/partenaires).

A Designer Evening
To mark the launch of these new initiatives, Montreal’s curious, amateur and professional fashionistas will meet on October 5th at Koko, the Opus hotel’s restaurant-bar, to celebrate fashion in all its forms. That evening, NIGHTLIFE.CA and the Montreal Fashion Bureau will launch a “Montreal Fashion” Street Stylin’ contest titled “The Many Faces of the Chic Montrealer”, in which event goers can participate by donning Montreal designers’ clothes and accessories for a chance to win a fashion-themed gift certificate

“We are very pleased with this partnership – it shows Montreal Fashion Bureau’s importance in developing a major creative and economic fashion hub that takes part in forging the history and identity of our city, both nationally and internationally,” highlights Martine Desjardins, editor of NIGHTLIFE.CA.

“NIGHTLIFE.CA is a choice partner to give prominence to the Montreal Fashion Bureau’s pin logo, a symbol that identifies local fashion designers and retailers. This creative partnership enables us to further spread the word about Montreal’s fashion scene and to contribute to the development of a strong local market,” affirms Richard Deschamps, Vice President of the executive committee and director of economic development in Montreal.

This new partnership adds to growing list of major associations integrated in NIGHTLIFE.CA’s core advertising platforms, which already includes the STM and Bud Light.

About the Montreal Fashion Bureau
Founded in 2009, the Montreal Fashion Bureau has already completed many projects. The organization has placed stickers of their pin logo on store windows to physically identify designer boutiques, hung banners on buildings in downtown Montreal’s principal fashion streets and instituted a program in which representatives invite international press to the city and greet them upon arrival. In addition, ModeMontreal.TV will continue offering original content and practical tools that allow viewers to discover Montreal’s fashion scene from different angles, as it has since September 2010.
