Warm and comforting dishes that will make you forget the cold in our Restobar partners in Toronto!

Nothing beats winter blues like a meeting up with friends at a restaurant for a tasting of warm and comforting foods.  Here, we recommend three restaurants in Toronto to make you warm during those long winter nights.

The Good Son

Opened by Vittorio Colacitti, contestant on the popular Top Chef Canada competition, The Good Son is a charming establishment on Queen Street West in Toronto. The chef describes his cuisine as being « Torontonian », focusing as much as possible on the freshest and local products. The owner wanted an inviting warm and cozy décor for his restaurant and it’s safe the say that the mission was accomplished. Moreover, for a more of a friendly gathering, meals are made to be shared. On the menu, you will find a mix of French inspired dishes (an egg on a bed of beef tartare), as well as Jamaican inspired dishes (Jerk shrimp), in addition to their popular wood fired pizzas.  A warm atmosphere to satisfy your cravings on those cold winter nights.

For a touch of sun this winter, nothing is more comforting than a plate full of tacos prepared by Chef Adam Dolley.  This restaurant, recently opened, is the latest project of Ted Koustogiannopoulos, also owner the Barrio Cerveceria, which we already spoke to you about here: [LINK]. On the menu, apart from the tacos, we find several Mexican cuisine specialities, always nicely prepared with the freshest ingredients and just the right amount of spices. The fried avocado deserves a special mention as it will delight fans of this fruit.  At the bar, a wide selection of Mezcals, tequilas and varied cocktails await you.

A must for this comfort food season: Greek&Co. The mission of the owners is to bring the fresh and authentic flavors of Greek cuisine into the coolest neighborhoods of Toronto. What started as a small project quickly grew into the actual company, which now has three locations in Toronto; one in Bellwoods, one in Annex and one in King West. On the menu, you’ll find gyros, a greek pita, and a selection of traditional plates. Whether you prefer chicken, beef or pork, their spit-roast meat served with homemade tzatziki and fresh vegetables will provide a comforting and healthy meal. Bonus point: they make a commitment to source from locally produced meat for their restaurant!
