Millions of Canadians Continue to Flock to TSN and RDS for the World Juniors

– Audiences up 41% for Team Canada’s first three games compared to the last tournament held in Europe –

TORONTO (December 31, 2015) – TSN continues to attract major audiences for Team Canada games at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship. Preliminary overnight data from Numeris confirms that audiences are up 41% for Team Canada’s first three games compared to the last tournament held in Europe (the 2014 IIHF WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP in Malmo, Sweden). To date, more than 9.8 million Canadians have tuned in to watch some or all of TSN and RDS’s wall-to-wall coverage of the World Juniors in Helsinki, Finland. An average audience of 1.4 million viewers tuned in to TSN (1.28 million) and RDS (170,000) for Canada’s 6-1 rout over Denmark on December 28, while 1.69 million viewers tuned in to TSN (1.46 million) and RDS (234,000) for Canada’s 3-2 victory over Switzerland on December 29. Overall, 4.1 million unique Canadian viewers tuned in to watch the Canada-Denmark game on TSN and RDS, while 4.3 million unique Canadian viewers tuned in to TSN and RDS for the Canada-Switzerland game.
