The ART HERE Contest: Canadians have until April 17 to select the 15 best artworks submitted in 2015

Montreal, April 4, 2016 — Newad, organizer of the national visual arts contest Art Here, invites Canadians to begin voting online today for the 15 best artistic creations of 2015. Voters have until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 17 to go to to see the 35 shortlisted images and vote for the winners of the 2015 edition.

This year, 1,010 participants, hailing from all of our nation’s provinces and territories, submitted a total of 1,525 images, namely creations of digital art, graphic design, illustration, painting, installation, sculpture, and photography. The winners, who will be announced on May 4, 2016, will get to see their artworks exhibited in Newad’s indoor advertising network across all of Canada’s urban centres.

This year’s 35 finalists were preselected in late January by an internal committee. “We are incredibly excited by how original and creative the images were this year,” said Yaëlle Philippe-Auguste, Director, Marketing at Newad. “Having such an exceptional year of submissions confirms the value and rising popularity of our objective: to give emerging and established artists a major opportunity to showcase their art. It also demonstrates the inspiration, talent, and variety of artists in the country,” she concluded.

Launched in 2009, Art Here highlights the talent of our country’s visual artists by rewarding the best artworks each year. In seven years, more than 2,655 artists have submitted more than 4,024 images via the free uploading and viewing platform at
