Newad Launches Campaign to Promote the Alberta Gambling & Liquor Commission’s bet on Common Sense

Edmonton, September 13th, 2016 — Newad’s Indoor Advertising team in Edmonton has launched a provincial Campaign in its Restobar network aimed at promoting the Alberta Gambling & Liquor Commission’s DrinkSense program.  In line with AGLC’s mission to ensure responsible gaming and liquor choices that deliver economic and social benefits to Albertans, this new umbrella program for liquor social responsibility will be deployed across the province in the years to come.

AGLC aims to create progressive gaming and liquor experiences. While this first DrinkSense creative is purposefully simple, it insures that the campaign’s message comes first: “Engage your DrinkSense”.  Moreover, the phrase “Enjoy Responsibly” is paired with the headline to give clarity and meaning to DrinkSense—a new term introduced to the Alberta audience.

In order to help the audience understand the function of the DrinkSense initiative, which will serve as a sponsor to all future liquor related messages, AGLC has also launched a sub-campaign for the Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Used in both Digital and Classic print formats, these two campaigns will remind Albertans of the consequences and risks of consuming alcohol irresponsibly.

“We’re very proud to help establish such an important campaign,” said Yana Read, Senior Account Executive at Newad. “Collaborating with professionals on achieving long term goals is always motivating.” Creatives and media buying for this campaign were executed by Calder Bateman, an Edmonton-based agency.
