Results of the sixth national visual arts contest announced

February 25, 2015 — The ART HERE team disclosed today the names of the 15 winners of its national visual arts contest, crowning the artists of the best paintings, illustrations, and photographs of 2014. An independent jury convened earlier this year to shortlist 35 of the 800 artworks submitted. Then, from February 9 through February 23, Canadians went online to view and vote for their favourite images on, which now features the 15 winning artworks.

The winning artists of this edition are: Allisha Morris (AB); Leah Schmidt (AB); Vish Iyer (AB); Josh Johnson(AB); Jessie Pettit (AB); Virgilio Pellegrini (AB); Mary Ann Burrows (BC); Cristobal Ruiz Encina (BC); Rudolf Sokolovski (BC); Danielle Cole (ON); Tosh Jeffrey (ON); Jeremie Deschamps Bussieres (QC); Melodie Perrault(QC); Mike Pelland (QC) ; Nancy Lapointe (QC).

“We are very proud to share the winning art pieces, which stood out based on their quality, creativity, and variety,” said Catherine Normandeau, president of the jury and Head Graphic Designer at Newad. It should be noted that ART HERE is a philanthropic initiative by Newad, a national company specializing in indoor advertising, web, and creative content. The initiative encourages and supports artists by affording them the opportunity to showcase their work and see their talent shine across the country. To that end, the winning images will be displayed in Newad’s national indoor advertising network, which represents exceptionally valuable visibility.

ART HERE 2015 is now open!

Launched in 2009, ART HERE rewards artists who submit artworks through its free platform, The 2015 edition is now open to artists, who have until December 31, 2015, to submit their illustrations, paintings, or photographs. Since the contest was launched, more than 3,000 artists have submitted more than 5,000 images via the free uploading and viewing platform.
